Work in Progress

Anima Morale is an interactive future simulation that presents a possible version of the year 2081. The project combines three formats—video, technology-driven interaction, and performance in the live version—into an immersive experience. Through striking 180-degree projections, the audience is immersed in the lived realities of twelve different characters and their stories. They are guided by KIME, an artificial intelligence that moderates the journey into the future.

What makes it special: the audience actively shapes the course of the show. Via a web app, viewers make collective decisions that determine which storyline they will explore next—and which they may not see at all. Each vote alters the subsequent path of the simulation and points to the consequences of previous decisions. This creates an individual show experience oriented toward the values and priorities of the respective audience, making visible how these may shift over the course of the journey.

In the complementary live format, musicians and performers expand the narrative with references to current social issues. They engage with debates and events, enter into direct dialogue with the audience, and can also interact with KIME.

With approximately 100 possible narrative paths, Anima Morale offers a multilayered and dynamic experience. The show breaks with linear storytelling and employs a wide range of visual strategies—from animations and AI-generated content to live-action video and archival material—to open up diverse perspectives.

The immersive space extends traditional venues such as cinema and theater into dialogical and participatory platforms for reflection and knowledge exchange. Anima Morale illuminates the complexity of global interconnections and makes scientific insights, political discourses, and economic questions tangible. It invites audiences to reflect on their own values and their significance in society, poses urgent questions, encourages active participation, and creates space for discussion and the exchange of diverse perspectives—united by the appeal that change is possible.
