Isabelle Konrad (b. 1998, Weißenhorn) is a media artist, director, and creative director. Her work explores how power is inscribed in the body, and how conventions, norms, and social expectations dictate what we can do and who we are allowed to be.

The questions that guide her are rooted in feminist, affect-theoretical, and identity-political debates. Whom do we listen to? Whose pain is acknowledged? How is memory passed down and distorted? Her projects— research-based and collaborative — emerge from the tension between coercion and desire, between conformity to rules and what challenges them.

As a creative director, she also develops visual concepts and audiovisual formats for cultural institutions and brands.

She studied media art at the HfG Karlsruhe and the IUAV in Venice and is a co-founder of Lichtspielsauna e.V.

Her film installation “It’s Okay Now” was shown at ABA e.V. in Berlin, the BBK, and the ZKM in Karlsruhe; other exhibitions include “Mindbombs” at the Kunsthalle Mannheim and a solo exhibition at the Tobias Schrade Gallery. Her films include “Paranoia” and “Purpur,” for which she was honored as Best Filmmaker at the Boden International Film Festival.

She is currently working on FURIE, a multimedia project about female rage, as well as the XR project “Anima Morale,” nominated for the 2026 AUREA Award.

She lives and works in Karlsruhe and Ulm, Germany.
